THE AMOEBA PEOPLE LIVE SHOW
A non-stop onslaught of scientific awesomeness, The Amoeba People live show is a cosmic blend of rock, electronic, folk, hip-hop, and scientific concepts which converge to create an entirely new genre of music we like to call Science Rock From The Planet Crouton.
From the cosmic rock grooves of "Cosmology, Your Futon and You" to the 80s tech-pop of "Seismograph," to the straight up nerdish hip-hop of "The Geologists Are Coming!", The Amoeba People live show is unlike anything else on this planet.
Our live shows have graced the stages of science museums, bookstores, unsuspecting elementary schools, nature centers, idyllic parks, warehouses, backyards of modest square footage, and skate parks. There is no location humans can devise that would keep The Amoeba People from rolling up in their 1992 Buick Roadmaster, ready to rock.
Music. Science. It's what we do.
THE AMOEBA PEOPLE ARE:
MR. HEDGPETH: vocals, electric guitar, flyswatter guitar, theremin, bells, tin cans, out-of-tune autoharp.
MR. MOSLEY: bass guitar, vocals, keyboards, vocoder, pop gun, slide whistle, (plus an assortment of awesomely awkward dance moves).
MR. JORDAN: drums, vocals, sampler, thundermaker, spoons, castanettes, Monotron.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE AWESOMNESS:
Curriculum-wise, the music of The Amoeba People is designed to enhance and energize science for students aged 9-13, particularly in the realm of Earth Science (though we write about all areas of science). The music is road-tested in Mr. Hedgpeth's science classroom where student interest and educational effectiveness determine which songs make into the live rotation.
But we don't stop there.
While what we do is written for students at that age, it is designed to be enjoyed by all humanity. College professors around the world use our songs and videos in their classrooms; elementary, middle and high school teachers across the country have fanatically shared our content with their students; and working scientists (in particular geologists) from North and South America to Europe, Asia, and Australia count themselves as dedicated fans.
